The hospital is to be built behind the existing one on Picton’s Main Street and is to open in
2027.
“If it were not for the generosity of this community in contributing to the Back the Build Fund, we likely would not be holding this meeting today” said Barbara McConnell, who chairs the PECMH Foundation. She thanked all who have donated and those who have supported the effort.

Pamela Carter has been painting her way through the pandemic.
The Wellington artist recently gave a second donation to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, 25 per cent of the proceeds from her winter art sale.
Over the month of December 2020, Carter sold several paintings and donated $700 to the foundation to use where needed most. This donation adds to her spring gift resulting in her giving a total of $2,493 from her art sales in 2020.
“Thank you to so many people who stepped up for my second fundraiser, both here in the County and also from places as far away as British Columbia, New Brunswick and the United States,” said Carter.
