Local maple producers on behalf of the Maple in the County Festival Committee presented members of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation with a cheque for $6,000 to help Back the Build for a new hospital. This sweet embrace of support was raised through the sale of Maple in the County To-Go Bags which were sold for $40 and saw 100 per cent of the proceeds donated to the new hospital campaign. Many who purchased bags also opted to donate additional funds to the cause.

Painting through the pandemic

The Wellington artist recently gave a second donation to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation, 25 per cent of the proceeds from her winter art sale. Over the month of December 2020, Carter sold several paintings and donated $700 to the foundation to use where needed most. This donation adds to her spring gift resulting in her giving a total of $2,493 from her art sales in 2020. “Thank you to so many people who stepped up for my second fundraiser, both here in the County and also from places as far away as British Columbia, New Brunswick and the United States,” said Carter.
