Film federation lays new guidelines for shooting amid rise in Covid cases Safety precautions on set to be followed, filming of crowd sequences disallowed The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has formed a monitoring team to ensure that all COVID-19 shooting guidelines including safety precautions on set, avoiding filming of crowd sequences are strictly followed amid the surge in coronavirus cases in Maharashtra. The film and TV industry has been badly hit due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the state and particularly the capital city. Several on-ground productions like Ram Setu , Gangubai Kathiawadi and Dharma Productions-backed Mr Lele halted shoots after their leading actors, including Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar tested positive for coronavirus.

CBI records statement of bar owner close to Sachin Waze ANI | Updated: Apr 09, 2021 23:18 IST Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 9 (ANI): Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recorded the statement of Mahesh Shetty, a bar owner who is close to Sachin Waze, in connection with extortion allegations against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Mahesh Shetty s statement was also recorded by National Investigation Agency (NIA) earlier today, in connection with Antilia bomb scare case and Mansukh Hiren death case. The CBI on Friday, once again recorded the statement of suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze in connection with the investigation on allegations levelled by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh against Anil Deshmukh.

Highlights The state govt is mulling lockdown like last year Night curfew has been imposed in the state Mumbai: In view of the alarming spike in COVID-19 cases in the state, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has called an all-party meeting on Saturday (April 10). The government will take stock of the COVID-19 situation in the state. The meeting will be attended by prominent leaders of the three parties involved in the Mahavikas Aghadi government, leaders of BJP, leaders of MNS, API, SP, and others. The government is said to be mulling a lockdown just like last year. Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Pravin Darekar said the decision to organise the all-party meeting was taken this afternoon.

Highlights Night curfew in the state from 8 pm to 7 am Only essential services will be allowed to function during lockdown NEW DELHI: With Maharashtra witnessing an increase in daily coronavirus COVID-19 cases, the state authorities have announced a strict lockdown over the weekend. The weekend lockdown will start from 8 pm on Friday (April 9) and be in place till 7 am on Monday (April 12). The government has also enforced a night curfew in the state from 8 pm to 7 am daily when only essential services will be allowed to function. As per the notification, essential services including medical, grocery, fruit, milk shops will be allowed to be opened. Hotels can run the delivery system. If the number of corona cases does not fall in the state following fresh restrictions and there is a shortage of health services, the government may consider a complete lockdown across the state.
