Prime Minister Narendra Modi s government has set a deadline of 2023-24 to finish the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. The bullet train is expected to run at a speed of 300 km per hour over the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmadabad route.
Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR), also known as Bullet Train Project, has been sanctioned with a target to be completed by 2023, Railway Minister told the Rajya Sabha in June.

Mumbai, Dec 18 (IANS): Congress President Sonia Gandhi has written a letter to ally and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray asking him to implement the Common Minimum Programme in the state in letter and spirit, especially pertaining to the welfare of the Dalits and tribals.
Referring to suggestions she had received, Gandhi said that the budget allocation for the development of SC/ST communities should be in proportion to their share in the population with focus on schemes that would help bring them on par with the rest of society at the earliest.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has directed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to explore alternative sites for Metro 3 car shed, an official said on Friday. The direction comes in the wake of the Bombay High Court on Wednesday staying the order passed by the Mumbai suburban district collector allotting 102 acres of salt pan land in suburban Kanjurmarg for the construction of an integrated metro car shed.

In the wake of the Bombay High Court’s stay on the Mumbai Metro III car shed project, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has asked officials to explore whether alternative locations are available for its relocation.
Sources said that one of the options being examined is a state-owned land parcel in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai, which has been earmarked for the Centre’s flagship Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed corridor project, popularly known as the bullet train project.
