(WKBT) – Weber Health Logistics in La Crosse is helping vaccinate those eligible in our community. The company was able to move up their vaccination effort after a little more than a month of preparations. Doses of the vaccine arrived Monday and they’ve already started giving the shots. Vaccines will be available to those determined to be eligible by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. “There are thousands of people that need to be vaccinated over the next few months. And Mayo and Gundersen are vaccinating hundreds of people every day, but they need our assistance,” said Terri Boardman Weber Health Logistics vaccine clinic nurse manager.

Aubrieana Rae Strain, 18, of Hollandale was driving a 2006 Hyundai Sonata east on Minnesota Highway 251 at the intersection with U.S. Highway 218 about 8 a.m. Saturday when the car left the icy road and went into the ditch on the east side of the road, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report. Strain was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Austin with non-life threatening injuries. No update on her condition was available.

La Crosse County Health Department seeking to connect with health care workers to assist in COVID-19 vaccine distribution

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – As the COVID-19 vaccine distribution continues, the La Crosse County Health Department working to connect with health care workers. Community organizations that have health care workers that do not work for Gundersen or Mayo Clinic Health Systems are asked to contact the Department. The goal is to create a list of phase 1-A health care.

While not seeking to diminish lifetime achievements, it can also be important to recognize younger generations for their forward-thinking efforts. To that end, a recognition event known as “4 Under 40” is prepared to honor four Martin County residents, including Blake Potthoff, Laura Olsen, Kaleena Wiens, and Benjamin Landsteiner. Erik Karre, District Director for the Boy Scouts of America Twin Valley Action Council, shares information explaining the event. “It’s designed to recognize up and coming leaders in the community. Many older people get recognized for lifetime commitments to things in the community,” he said. “Back in my hometown there really wasn’t a lot that was designed to recognize the young people. So I put together a committee of people in the community and we put this together.”
