Trees are a vital part of our lives. Trees clean the atmosphere, reduce ambient temperature, and promote pride and joy by enhancing the aesthetics of communities across the nation. They provide us with wood for building and warming our homes, as well as food for both people and animals. Most importantly, however, they give us the very air we breath.

To celebrate another year of being designated a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation, the City of Hinesville and the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority created an orchard and planted several trees at Bryant Commons Park on Feb. 27.
The City of Hinesville has earned and maintained the Tree City USA designation since 1988, according to a press release issued by the City.
Hinesville Mayor Allen Brown said the Morning Glory Garden Club and Keep Liberty Beautiful has helped the City retain their Tree City USA designation by maintaining several gardens throughout the City.

Hinesville has once again been named a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor its commitment to community forestry. To celebrate, the City of Hinesville and Hinesville Downtown Development Authority will host a tree planting on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. in Bryant Commons Park, located at 438 W. Oglethorpe Hwy. During the tree planting, Mayor Allen Brown and representatives from the Hinesville Youth Council, Keep Liberty Beautiful, Morning Glory Garden Club and ESG, Inc. will plant six citrus trees in the park’s small orchard.

MOULTRIE, Ga. â The Georgia Forestry Commission presents a Tree City USA banner to the City of Moultrie Friday during an Arbor Day observance at McCormick Park.
Among those participating were City Councilwomen Lisa Clarke Hill and Wilma Hadley and Mayor William McIntosh.
