Navy veteran attacked outside Schofield tavern - Wausau Pilot & Review

Wausau Pilot & Review Open Search By Shereen Siewert A 52-year-old military veteran suffered traumatic injuries early Saturday after a violent assault outside a Schofield tavern. The alleged victim, a U.S. Navy veteran who lives in Schofield, was walking home from Hoehn’s Huddle, 840 Grand Ave., and was in the parking lot when he was attacked by two men, officials confirmed. The victim’s girlfriend told Wausau Pilot & Review that had it not been for the quick thinking of the bar owner who pulled one of the men off the victim and called 911, she feared her boyfriend could have died in the attack.

Spencer man accused of killing Stratford brothers pleads guilty

Brandon D. Noll is accused of killing Michael L. Stone and William R. Stone, both of Stratford. Noll pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide. Marathon County Circuit Court Judge Michael Moran dismissed and read in two counts of driving or operating a vehicle without consent and one count of fleeing or eluding an officer. Moran ordered that a pre-sentence investigation be completed within 90 days. The date of Noll s sentencing has not yet been set. Marathon County sheriff s deputies, Wisconsin State Patrol and Stratford police responded April 7, 2020, to a report of a stabbing near County P in the town of Cleveland, according to the sheriff s office. They arrested Noll after they say he led them on a high-speed chase that ended in Marshfield.

Tuesday afternoon 23-year-old Brandon Noll was in Marathon County Circuit Court for a plea hearing. This is the second time Noll has been scheduled for a plea hearing. The original plea hearing date in April was moved to May after logistical issues with Noll’s transportation from the Columbia Correctional Institute in Portage to the Marathon County Courthouse in Wausau. At the hearing, it was announced that three of the charges against Noll will be dismissed but read in and he has pleaded guilty to the remaining two charges. The guilty pleas were entered for two charges of 1st-degree intentional homicide. The charges dismissed but read in include driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent and using a vehicle to flee or elude an officer.
