INDIANAPOLIS Former Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry died Tuesday at the age of 72.
The Marion County Prosecutor s Office announced Curry s death Tuesday evening.
Curry was first elected to be the county s top prosecutor in 2010. He won re-election in 2014 and 2018. The prosecutor s office believes he s the only Democrat to serve three terms as prosecutor in Marion County.
Curry resigned his position in 2019 while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. He said at the time that he had been receiving treatment for cancer since 2015.

The Marion County Democrats will hold a day of service today. Members of the party will deliver thank-you cards and goodie bags to employees of Knoxville Hospital & Clinics, Pella Regional Health Center, and various long-term care facilities. Ann Fields with the group tells KNIA/KRLS News that this is to show gratitude for the efforts of care providers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Volunteers have spent the last two weeks preparing the gifts.
They’ll begin at 10:00 a.m. at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics, and will spend much of the day traveling around Knoxville, Pleasantville and Pella making these deliveries.
