MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX Montgomery County residents will have the opportunity to eat great food for a better cause during the month of August as part of Houston Restaurant Weeks.
The event, founded by the late Houston journalist and foodie icon Cleverley Stone, is a fundraiser for Houston Food Bank and its partner distribution organizations, including Montgomery County Food Bank. The fundraiser will run from Aug. 1 to Sept. 6 and feature restaurants from all over Greater Houston. Participating restaurants and promotional menus were revealed starting on July 15, and more will be added before the event starts.

Jennifer Hamad, valedictorian
Hamad said she found out she was valedictorian when Heights sent out official rankings via email. She will attend Stanford University and major in biology. Although her academic achievement is impressive, Hamad said she defines success in school not by academic achievement but by the amount of enjoyment she felt while learning.
âI think loving learning and finding joy and fulfillment in every lesson and in the process of inquisition were integral to my achievement of this success in school,â Hamad said.
She said there is at least one fond memory from each of her classes that she will carry with her.
