Kota Kinabalu: A caretaker of an entertainment outlet was fined RM1,800 or two months jail on Monday for operating it without a licence last year.
Abdul Malek Dan, 31, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun to committing the offence at Golden City KTV Club Sdn Bhd, Block A, Pintas Avenue shop in Penampang at 10.30pm on Nov 28, 2020.
The facts of the case presented by the prosecution stated that Malek, who was the caretaker of the outlet failed to produce a business licence to police who inspected the premises.

Investigations revealed that the Penampang District Council informed the police that the premises was still under the attention of the Fire and Rescue Department to request comments in support of licensing for the business activity applied for, namely karaoke KTV room.

Kota Kinabalu: A 19-year-old man who gave a false statement to police claiming that he was robbed was fined RM1, 400 or two months jail on Friday.
Russell Teo pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to giving the false statement to Inspector Mohd Anwar Mohd Jamil at 12.05am on March 27 this year at Wisma Inti Utama, Jalan Dewan here.
The charge stated that Teo gave a false written statement claiming that an unknown man in a motorcycle snatched his knapsack while he was waiting for his cousin at 8pm on March 26 at Inanam town.
