Latino Community Association receives $12,000 from Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Latino Community Association has received a $12,000 boost in June from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation of Roseburg to support its efforts to equip Central Oregon Latinos with job skills and help finding employment.
LCA’s workforce education program teaches English and computer skills (currently online) and offers one-on-one support to navigate job applicants through setting goals, refining their resumes, applying for jobs or applying for a business license. With this help, workers can gain higher-paying jobs to build wealth and provide better housing, food, and health care for their families.
Rimrock Trails Treatment Services receives $7,500 grant from Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation
PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) Rimrock Trails Treatment Services said Monday is tremendously grateful to receive $7,500 in grant funds from the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation’s spring 2021 grant cycle.
Funding from the CCUIF establishes a Peer Support Specialist Fund so that Deschutes County individuals and families will have their basic needs met and be able to partake in skill-building enrichment activities while receiving behavioral health treatment.

Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation helps Meals on Wheels in Deschutes County
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Council on Aging of Central Oregon announced Thursday that the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation has awarded a $12,000 grant for Meals on Wheels programming in Deschutes County.
The Council on Aging will use the funds to provide home-delivered meals to adults aged 60+ who are at nutritional risk due to decreased mobility, lack of ability to stand and prepare a meal or are unable to shop and carry groceries on their own.
“The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation continues to support one of our most important programs - Meals on Wheels,” said Susan Rotella, executive director for the Council on Aging of Central Oregon. “Their generous and sustained support, especially now during COVID-19, allows us to serve many more older adults in Deschutes County with home-delivered meals and a regular wellness check by a friendly volunteer.
