Portugal has been removed from the UK s green list
The news that Portugal
is being removed from the UKâs green list of destinations from which arrivals
do not need to go into quarantine has been slammed by the industry.
Clive Wratten, CEO of
the Business Travel Association, said: âTodayâs announcement has effectively closed UK
borders. It is a devastating day for the travel industry as a whole. Removing
Portugal from the green list will destroy any confidence in international
travel, whether for work or leisure.Â

We have repeatedly asked for this data, but we are being left in the dark about how it is making these choices, with no opportunity for scrutiny or challenge.

The decision to remove Portugal from the green list follows concerns around the spread of the Delta (Indian) coronavirus variant.
Grant Shapps MP, Secretary of State for Transport, said: While we are making great progress in the UK with the vaccine rollout, we continue to say that the public should not travel to destinations outside the green list.
