New projects on the cards to generate 200,000 green jobs July 5, 2021 Islamabad: The climate change ministry is all set to launch fresh projects to generate 200,000 green jobs till the end of this year focusing on three segments of the society including youth, women and local communities. An official informed that the local community would be involved to create green jobs through a programme about Lake Manchar in the Sindh province. “Similarly, another programme will also be initiated in Dera Ismael Khan where the local community will be provided with green jobs through nature-based solutions,” he said. The further details revealed that the climate change ministry discussed the issue of green jobs with the higher authorities and set a target to generate green jobs with the help of the Green Stimulus Initiative. The details showed that the ministry has also prepared a financial model for these green jobs that would be funded under Ecosystem Restoration Fund.

July 3, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday appreciated the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for achieving the historic level of tax revenue of Rs4,732 billion in 2020-21, exceeding the target of Rs4,691 billion and 18 percent higher than the last year. The prime minister tweeted, “I commend efforts of FBR for achieving historic level of tax revenues of Rs4,732 billion in 2020-21 - exceeding target of Rs4,691bn & 18% higher than last year. This performance is testimony to the strong economic revival spurred by our government s policies”. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday chairing a meeting on increase in foreign remittances. The premier directed the ministries concerned to consider extending more incentives to the overseas Pakistanis to attract maximum remittances.
