Community organizers, clergy, and members of law enforcement joined Erie County District Attorney John Flynn to call attention to the rising number of shootings and homicides in the city of Buffalo.
Pastor James Giles was one of several speakers representing clergy, community organizations, law enforcement, and elected officials at the King Urban Life Center on Genesee St. in Buffalo. They all came together to speak out about rising gun violence, and efforts to curb it.

This year so far, 39 people have been murdered citywide according to DA Flynn, and he fears that Buffalo could be on pace for the deadliest year in history.

After days of being missing, it is being reported that former Dipset rapper’s daughter, Saniyya Dennis, has taken her own life. According to reports, officials say it appears that Saniyya has died by suicide. “It appears that this poor girl took her own life,” Erie County District Attorney John Flynn told reporters during a morning news conference.
Authorities have not yet located her body, yet they were able to reach that conclusion based on a timeline since she’s been missing. Reportedly, on April 24, District Attorney John Flynn said Dennis got into an argument with her boyfriend via the phone. After trying to contact him 59 times to no avail, she called another male friend in New York City and talked about killing herself, the DA said.

A Buffalo State college student, Saniyya Dennis, 19 was reported missing since April 24. News sources say, her cell phone last pinged on Goat Island in Niagara Falls around 1:23 a.m. April 25.
For 11 days, family/friends and a rescue team have been looking for Dennis. The Erie County District Attorney’s Office partnered with University Police at Buffalo State to lead the search. ABC reports she is presumed to have taken her own life.
Authorities didn’t locate her body. They believe she took her life based on a timeline since she’s been missing. According to District Attorney John Flynn, Dennis got into an argument with her boyfriend via the phone on April 24. She reportedly tried contacting him 59 times and didn’t hear back. Dennis called her male friend in New York and expressed to him that she planned on killing herself.
