Save the Date: Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students Finalist Interviews  The Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students search committee will host on-campus candidate interviews starting Thursday (April 15). The finalists were selected as the result of a nationwide search that began in January.  The campus community is invited to attend a campus forum for each candidate via Zoom. The presentations will be approximately 30 minutes with a 15 minute Q&A to follow.  Specific dates and candidate information will be released tomorrow (April 13).  10-digit Dialing Requirement by Michigan Tech IT Effective Oct. 24, 2021, all local calls from campus phones will require full 10-digit dialing (8 + 1 + 906-XXX-XXXX).

Greenhouse disease and insect management recommendations for 2021 Michigan State University Extension has updated their insect and disease management recommendations for the 2021 greenhouse season. There have been some changes from the previous 2020 recommendations. These recommendations are updated yearly to reflect efficacy of pesticides as MSU Extension specialists and their nationwide colleagues perform research trials evaluating the products against common greenhouse insects, mites or diseases. The pesticides are evaluated by a network of researchers involved in the IR-4 Project, a research group that facilitates the labeling of pesticides on specialty crops, including greenhouse crops. Branch County still in a moderate drought according to U S Drought Monitor

Courtesy U.S. Drought Monitor BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Branch County along with other Michigan counties that border Indiana and Ohio remain in a moderate drought according to the latest report released Thursday by the U.S. Drought Monitor. Over 17 percent of Michigan is considered to have moderate drought conditions. Included in that designation are Hillsdale and St. Joseph Counties along with most of Calhoun County. During moderate drought conditions, most crops and vegetation along with farmed Christmas trees are stressed and well levels decline. The Michigan State University Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm measured 0.23 of an inch of rain on Thursday for the first rainfall measurement of April.
