Boland wins the Grace amendment

An important change to how Development Levies are charged in Fingal will help address and unintended penalty on families building larger homes to accommodate children with disabilities. Fingal County Council as a Planning authority, apply a Development Levy charge to every Planning permission it grants. That is with a few exceptions. The adopted scheme runs for a period of five years. The Scheme was before the council last Monday and it was expected that the Management s recommendation would be adopted. Veteran Local Councillor Cathal Boland had other ideas, however. He proposed amendments, motivated to make changes having spoken to Rush man, Damien Doyle whose daughter Grace is severely disabled.
