The grants supplement the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) scheme, which has been running for a number of weeks. Businesses who have already applied for the LRSG do not have to re-apply separately for the Closed Business Lockdown Payment scheme. Eligible businesses will have their Closed Business Lockdown Payments automatically added to their LRSG amount. For businesses yet to apply for the LRSG grant, it is available for both periods of national lockdown - from November 5 to December 1 2020, and from January 5 2021 onwards.

The council has been given a further £20.3 million to support Plymouth businesses
Plymouth City Council has announced that a number of different grant schemes are available to businesses impacted by the Covid-19 restrictions.
The council is working as quickly as possible to process applications and distribute the funding, and wants to make sure that eligible businesses do not miss out.
The Council has been given a further £20.3 million to distribute in grants to support businesses during the third national lockdown.
BUSINESSES in Copeland will receive one-off payments of £4,000, £6,000 or £9,000 as early as next week. The Closed Business Lockdown Payment will automatically be paid on or around January 20 for those that have already applied for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (closed) payments. Copeland Borough Council said those that have not already applied for this grant to do so before the closing date of March 31, 2021. All businesses that are automatically paid will receive an email confirmation from the Council’s Business Rates team via GOV.UK Notify. The top-up lockdown payment will help support eligible businesses through the current national lockdown measures imposed by the Government on January 5, and will be awarded in addition to the Local Restrictions Support Grant (closed) scheme.
