A farmer and his son have offered to help build a drive-thru Covid-19 vaccine centre.
Stephen and James Attwood who farm in Swale have written to Sittingbourne and Sheppey MP Gordon Henderson asking him to pass on their offer at high level .

The Attwoods, who farm on Sheppey and in Sittingbourne, said: The roll-out of the new vaccine is of such importance it requires a national effort. The Government should work with the private sector. Drive-thrus could be constructed across the country in large car parks, airports, private hospitals and county showgrounds which could operated 24/7.

More people are dying with coronavirus in east Kentâs hospitals than anywhere else in England, new figures reveal.
NHS statistics show there have been 125 Covid-19 deaths recorded at sites run by the East Kent Hospitals Trust in the last fortnight, with 40% of beds now occupied by a patient with the virus.

Malvern Road and Railside surgeries, Gillingham, closed due to Covid

Two GP surgeries have been closed after staff members tested positive for Covid-19.
The Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group has confirmed Malvern Road Surgery and Railside Surgery, both in Gillingham, are shut.

It is understood patients were first told of the problems on Monday.
A spokesman said: GP services are temporarily unavailable due to staff sickness and the need for other members of staff to self-isolate, in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines. The CCG has worked closely with the practice to put in place emergency temporary arrangements.

A group of community pharmacists in Kent have stepped up to aid NHS colleagues with the Covid-19 vaccination programme.

To enable medics to vaccinate on mass, a process known as a patient specific direction (PSD) must be followed which requires a doctor or other independent prescriber (IP) to be present to ensure the jab is administered to a named patient.
In the face of potential delays to the rollout, Kent Local Pharmaceutical Committee (LPC) CEO Shilpa Shah was approached by the Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group to mobilise a group of pharmacist IPs to issue PSDs for the vaccine.
