Man charged with running over teen in Gravesend A man who allegedly ran over a teenager deliberately in Gravesend, leaving him with a serious leg injury, has been charged. Cameron O’Brien was arrested last week in connection with the incident which took place in the Waterton Avenue and Mark Lane area on the evening of Sunday, April 25. The 24-year-old, of Shamrock Road, Gravesend, has since been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been remanded in custody to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday May 7. As part of ongoing enquiries, two 16-year-old boys from Gravesend have also been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police investigating the death of community support officer Julia James have charged a 21-year-old man with her murder.
Ms James, 53, was found dead on 27 April near Akholt Wood, Snowdown, near Dover, having suffered serious head injuries.
Callum Wheeler, from Aylesham, was arrested at 21:30 BST on Friday.
He remains in custody and is due to appear via video link at Medway Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Ms James had worked for Kent Police since 2008, and her family said she was fiercely loyal and loved with her whole heart .
She died from severe head injuries and had been walking her dog near her home at the time, police said.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with the murder of PCSO Julia James.

Ms James, described as “fiercely loyal” by her family, died from serious head injuries while out walking her dog.
Large numbers of police, from several forces, were in Aylesham on Monday as the probe into her death continued.
CONSTRUCTION: Dratford Council has given planning permission for the project
A DISUSED magistrates court and former police station has been turned into a co-working space for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Dartford Magistrates’ Court in Highfield Road closed down several years ago and had since deteriorated.
Dartford council granted planning permission to re-contract the site and make it accessible for the community.
The building has now been converted into co-working office spaces with further facilities, including meeting rooms and a café.
Former cells have been converted into offices, but historical architectural features remain, such as the main cell door which was retained as a condition of planning permission.
