International students could return to Australia next month under Victorian government proposal

Foreign students and workers could soon be welcomed back into Australia under a new plan aimed at the boosting the economy. The Victorian Government proposed a dedicated quarantine hotel program similar to the one adopted in Melbourne earlier this year for the Australian Open. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been asked to give permission for up to 120 overseas students to enter Victoria each week from May 24. The arrivals would include foreign students and major events employees who would fly in on commercial flight whenever possible and be subject to the same strict regime in place for other internationals in quarantine.

YIRRAMBOI, meaning “tomorrow” in the shared languages of the Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung people, will feature theatre, film, exhibitions, talks, fashion parades, family-friendly events, circus performances, drag and much more with no two events being the same.
