The fight between the federal and state governments over whether the AstraZeneca vaccine should be given to under 40s has escalated with Queensland’s premier and chief health officer openly accusing Scott Morrison of risking the lives of young people.
Premiers also fought among themselves over whether international arrivals should cease or be cut back.

The intensified bickering came as South Australia recorded five cases, all linked to a mining worker who returned from the Northern Territory but Premier Steve Marshall said he was not locking down Adelaide or the state.
He said the worker and his family has isolated at home since Saturday. Four of the family of five had subsequently tested positive and were now in hotel quarantine.
