WCSU Dept Of Theatre Arts Presents Spring Virtual Production Series

The Department of Theatre Arts at Western Connecticut State University is proud to present its Spring Virtual Production Series. The series comprises four unique productions that will be broadcast twice over two weekends spanning Thursday, Apr. 29, through Sunday, May 9. A ticket to each performance date will allow the purchaser to access the show over the course of 24 hours that day. The WCSU Theatre Arts faculty is very proud of what we ve been able to accomplish this year regarding our virtual productions, said Department of Theatre Arts Associate Chair and Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre Justin P. Cowan. Between last fall and this spring, our department will have fully produced and streamed a total of nine productions. Considering that most of our professional industry has been on hold for over a year, we are thrilled to not only be providing theatre to our community and beyond, but also to be providing such meaningful opportunities for our students. NVCC Students Honored At Annual PTK Ceremony

Reply NVCC Students Irving Amaral and Lisa Marschall (NVCC photo) WATERBURY, CT - Naugatuck Valley Community College (NVCC) announced two nominees this year for the transfer track of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-USA Academic Team award: Irving Amaral and Lisa Marschall. Both students will be inducted to the All-Connecticut Academic Team for 2021. The annual All-CT Academic Team ceremony has traditionally been held at the Capitol to acknowledge the success of some of the most accomplished students in our community college system. Last year the program was cancelled because of the pandemic. This year, the awards will be hosted in a virtual ceremony on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 3:00 pm. To join the ceremony celebrating our students achievements, visitors may sign into our virtual celebration by 2:45pm on April 16. WCSU Master of Fine Arts students present virtual exhibition Written by WCSU Online show features 2021 M.F.A. candidates’ works in painting, illustration & mixed media       Six Western Connecticut State University graduate student candidates for the Master of Fine Arts degree in 2021 are presenting their works in the M.F.A. Thesis Virtual Exhibition featured on the web page of the Gallery at the WCSU Visual and Performing Arts Center in Danbury. Sponsored by the university’s Department of Art, the virtual exhibition that opened on April 5 offers the public an opportunity to experience the diverse works in painting, illustration and mixed media created by this year’s M.F.A. candidates. Closure of the VPAC Gallery to the public during the pandemic has made in-person viewing of the exhibition impossible.
