WPS Health Centre gives details on COVID-19 vaccinations SHARE ON: One-shot at a time the Parry Sound community is becoming a safer and healthier place. The West Parry Sound Health Centre released a statement Tuesday updating the community on its COVID-19 vaccination efforts. WPSHC confirmed getting 912 doses of both Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines over the last few weeks. Of those, 474 shots were provided in late February that included both doses for Lakeland Long Term Care residents, and first doses for Lakeland staff, WPSHC staff working inside Lakeland, some alternate level of care patients, some high-risk staff, and residents of Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged.

Lakeland LTC residents first to get Moderna doses SHARE ON: (Supplied by Pixabay) Long term care residents at Lakeland LTC will be the first to get a shot of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine in the region. Residents in West Parry Sound will begin receiving their first vaccinations today. The 110 resident home co-located with West Parry Sound Health Centre, has been planning and preparing for this day for weeks now. In a memo sent Tuesday, Lakeland LTC CEO, Donald Sanderson was thankful, stating that the team is fully prepared to receive the vaccine and provide it to all consenting residents at Lakeland.
