Drug warrant executed on Bowes St residence, over $30k worth of suspected cocaine/fentanyl seized SHARE ON: An OPP cruiser. (stock photo) A tri-departmental drug bust at a Bowes St residence on Wednesday led to the arrest of four individuals over trafficking charges.   The drug warrant was executed by members of the North East Region Community Street Crimes Unit assisted by OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the West Parry Sound Detachment.  OPP stated that officers seized over $30,000 of suspected cocaine and fentanyl and over $3,460 in Canadian currency. As a result, all four individuals, one from Parry Sound, one from Markham and two Toronto locals are facing four charges relating to possession and trafficking of a controlled substance.

The local Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jim Chirico responded to public calls against the extension of the shutdown in Parry Sound on Wednesday.  Dr. Chirico said case counts are much lower in the district of Parry Sound but it is important to note that it has two individuals with confirmed preliminary positive results for a Variant of Concern of unknown strain, who were exposed through Community spread.  In a call with MyParrySoundNow, Parry Sound Mayor Jamie McGarvey says those two cases do not change where he stands.
