Police confirmed that the man, who is thought to be in his 30s, was found in Wellington Road, Smethwick, at around 11.30am today (Wednesday April 28). The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the coroner. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: We were called to Wellington Road, Smethwick, following the discovery of a man’s body in a car just before 11.30am today (April 28). A man, thought to be in his 30s, was sadly found deceased.

An inquest has opened into the death of a man who was killed in a crash which closed a Derbyshire road for more than seven hours.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: Crews arrived to find fire colleagues working to release the man from beneath a large tree branch which had fallen onto him. Ambulance staff worked quickly to assess the man who had sustained serious injuries in the incident and received advanced trauma care on scene. Once his condition was stabilised, the man was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further emergency care.
Police have confirmed they are now investigating how the tree fell.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: Officers were called to Stapenhill Gardens, Burton, shortly after 1pm this afternoon to reports a man had been struck by a tree.
