PALMDALE (CNS) - Metrolink and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health are partnering to provide free mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinics beginning today at Metrolink s Palmdale and Lancaster stations, with the ability to administer 250 inoculations at each site per day.
Vaccinations will be ongoing weekly from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Tuesday through Saturday by walk-up or by pre-registering with vaccination provider RemediaCare, which will supply vaccines to anyone age 16 and older who lives or works in L.A. County, in accordance with Public Health guidelines.
“Programs like these are critical to facilitating the vaccination rollout to neighborhoods where our most vulnerable populations reside throughout the county to reduce the impact of COVID-19, county Supervisor Kathryn Barger, a Metrolink board member, said in announcing the plan last week.
Barger Pulls Dr. Drew Pinsky Nomination To Homeless Commission Following Resistance
L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger withdrew her nomination of celebrity doctor Dr. Drew Pinsky to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) on Tuesday following public outcry.
On Tuesday, Barger announced the withdrawal of her proposal to appoint Pinsky, better known as Dr. Drew, to the LAHSA on Twitter after the consideration resulted in backlash due to Dr. Drew’s controversial stance on the homelessness crisis.
“I knew that Dr. Drew would bring a new, forward-thinking approach and would help us address mental health and substance abuse as driving factors in the ongoing homelessness crisis,” Barger said. “Unfortunately, the proposed appointment took away from these important conversations about care for people experiencing homelessness.”

If L.A. County supervisors are serious about their care-first approach to services, they will reject the nomination of Drew Pinsky, the COVID-denying, justice-reform-blaming media darling who stands for just about everything opposite of the reforms the board has put forward.
