Governor sends 32,000 vaccines to help the urban area immunize the rest of its front line health care workers before moving on to other groups
Gov. Kate Brown has ordered 32,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines redirected to the Portland area instead of going to other parts of the state.
The move came after news reports that health care workers in Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties were unable to be vaccinated because of a shortage of doses. At the same time, other counties were inoculating groups further down the priority list because of excess doses on hand.
Big League Politics Editor-In-Chief Patrick Howley asserted that the CDC “willfully violated” multiple federal laws. Some of the laws Howley claimed the CDC flouted include the Information Quality Act, Paperwork Reduction act and Administrative Procedures Act.
In a statement provided to the
National File, Watchdog group All Concerned Citizens said that the CDC “illegally enacted new rules for data collection and reporting” for COVID-19 cases. These new rules resulted in a 1,600 percent increase in the number of COVID-19 fatalities. Despite being required to maintain full compliance with federal laws even during an emergency, the CDC failed to facilitate mandatory federal oversight and public scientific comment.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) could as soon as Wednesday lay out the requirements for schools to reopen, President Biden said in an interview that aired Sunday.
