Taipei, May 22 (CNA) Semiconductor suppliers in Taiwan have heightened their alert over an escalation in domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases in the country, to ensure that there will be no interruption to their production, especially amid a global shortage in microchips.
Despite more than 1,500 cases reported in the past week, the companies production is expected to stay unscathed under tightened disease prevention measures. Several integrated circuit heavyweights still expect their sales for the second quarter to continue to smash quarterly records.
