The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) yesterday reported one local case of COVID-19, the wife of a pilot who tested positive last week, and said that three more pilots had antibodies against the novel coronavirus, indicating a previous infection.
The local case is an Indonesian woman in her 40s who is the wife of an Indonesian China Airlines Ltd (CAL, 華航) cargo plane pilot who tested positive in Australia on Tuesday last week, said Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Director-General Chou Jih-haw (周志浩), head of the CECC’s disease surveillance division.

From April 6-9, he was on duty in the U.S. After returning to Taiwan, he quarantined at home until April 14. He did not experience any symptoms of the virus and the results of a coronavirus test came back on April 19 as negative.

Taipei, April 27 (CNA) Taiwan on Tuesday reported its second domestic COVID-19 case in a week and the latest case associated with Taiwan s China Airlines (CAL), according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
The new case is an Indonesian woman in her 40s who is the wife of a CAL cargo pilot who tested positive for COVID-19 in Australia on April 20. She was required to go into quarantine on April 21, the CECC said.

TAIPEI (The China Post) â The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, ä¸å¤®æµè¡ç«æ ææ®ä¸å¿) announced on Tuesday one new local COVID-19 case (case 1111), bringing the tally to 1,105.
According to the CECC, the woman is a family member of case 1090, a pilot who tested positive for the virus while in Australia.
The Indonesian woman is in her forties and had no recent activity of overseas travel. She was quarantined on April 21 as a possible contact to case 1090 and tested negative for the virus one day later.

The Presidential Office yesterday defended Representative to Japan Frank Hsieh’s (謝長廷) remarks about Japan’s plan to discharge nuclear wastewater into the ocean, while calling on opposition parties not to use the issue for political maneuvering.
The Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) on Thursday last week reported to the National Police Agency that it suspected Hsieh of spreading disinformation, after he wrote on Facebook that Taiwan also discharged wastewater containing tritium from three nuclear power plants into the ocean.
