Of the cases transmitted domestically, 11 were in New Taipei, three in Taoyuan, and one in Taipei. The new cases bring the total in the country to 15,429, of which 13,977 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 COVID-19 cases in a single day. The single death reported Monday was a man in his 80s who passed away on July 17, the CECC said. To date, 769 people have died of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 757 since May 15. (By Chiang Yi-ching)
