View Comments Steven Walde, 70, of the 100 block of Fohl Street in Biglerville, died Tuesday afternoon at WellSpan York Hospital, the coroner s office said. The cause and manner of death is pending. Walde was injured in the crash on March 18 at a Sheetz gas station located on Camp Letterman Drive in Straban Township. Walde was pumping gas when a pickup struck his car, and he was pinned between his vehicle and the gas pump, according to the coroner and emergency responders. Michael T. Baker, of York, was found dead this week from natural causes, according to Coroner Pamela Gay. 19-year-old shot in York this week: police Updated May 05, 2021; A 19-year-old man was injured in one of two shootings in York this week, police said. York City police said the 19-year-old was shot around 7:15 p.m. Monday in a parking lot on the 900 block of Loucks Road. Police said they were told around 9:03 p.m. that he was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The shooting remains under investigation. No other information was immediately available. This was the first of two shootings in York this week. Police said a 41-year-old was shot in a home on the 300 block of Smyser Street around 11:25 p.m. Monday. They were pronounced dead at York Hospital at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.

UPDATED MAY 13 with arrest information: The York City Police Department, with the assistance of the US Marshals, arrested Ryan Strada, age 20 of York, on Thursday in connection with the homicide that took place on May 3 at 305 Smyser Street, according to police. Strada is charged with criminal homicide, robbery and burglary in the death of Whispering Wind Bear Spirit, 41, in the 300 block of Smyser Street, where the victim had been staying. An arrest warrant for Nicholas Strada, age 17 of York, has been issued in connection with the same homicide. He is charged with criminal homicide, robbery and burglary, police said.
