A commercial law firm, Olaniyun Ajayi, which boasts of nearly 60 years’ experience in the business, has called for clarity in the federal governmentâs bid to sell some key national assets to boost the countryâs revenue.
Writing in its March bulletin, the company noted that it was obvious that the government had resorted to the development as a means of improving liquidity, reducing operating costs and improving the operational efficiency of certain its assets given the depth of resources and higher levels of expertise that is abound in the private sector.
Specifically, it noted that the government intended to use the proceeds realised from the disposal of the assets which cut across energy, industries, communications and infrastructure, to fund the 2021 budget.
DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the ccommand’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Yola. x
Nguroje said that the suspects were arrested by police while on area patrol on Rugange – Njoboliyo Road, Yola.
“Operatives of the command attached to Yola Division, while on area patrol on Rugange – Njoboliyo Road, arrested two notorious vandals.
“The suspects, Idi Wakil, 62, and Babangida Bello, 54, are all residents of Madumari Ward, Yola South Local Government Area,” he stated. x
Nguroje said that the suspects had been vandalising, stealing and selling out armored electricity cables that connected Njoboliyo and other villages to Yola.
