Citizens appreciate RWMC, RCB performance during Eid

Rawalpindi : The residents of Rawalpindi city and Cantonment areas have appreciated the performance of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) as both the departments successfully completed the Eidul Azha cleanliness operations and removed nearly 13,845 tons entrails of sacrificial animals during three days.
This year, excellent arrangements were witnessed in Rawalpindi city and cantonment areas to remove entrails of sacrificial animals and the efforts of the departments concerned have been hailed largely by the citizens.
According to details, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) and Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) did a good job on the eve of Eidul Azha as the operations in their respective areas were completed on Friday evening.
Inflation dampens spirit of Eidul Azha

Rawalpindi : The high prices of eatables coupled with skyrocketing transport fares dampened the spirits of holidaymakers during Eidul Azha in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The taxicabs, rickshaws, and other private services in the guise of POL prices looted the public with both hands. Even the seasonal butchers were demanding a high amount for slaughtering animals. For a normal bull butchers were demanding Rs15,000 and Rs5,000 for a normal goat. In case the animals were much bigger in size, the butchers’ charges were higher as well.
The day dawned with special prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity of the country at mosques. Rawalpindi : More than 9,500 tons offal was dumped by Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) during Eidul Azha Cleanliness Operation, says a press release.
On the directions of Punjab Government and MD RWMC Awais Manzoor Tarrar, RWMC and Albayrak Operations Department launched a successful cleanliness operation on the auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Adha. 3,539 workers took part in the cleanliness operations, 413 vehicles were used in the operation. 53 transfer stations were established at various locations in the Rawalpindi & Murree cities where offals, entrails and other wastes of sacrificial animals were dumped temporarily and were lifted immediately as huge dumper trucks were deployed at each transfer stations for prompt transportation.
RAWALPINDI: Heavy rain lashed the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Tuesday, inundating low-lying areas and cattle markets. The Met Office has predicted more rain in the Potohar region on Eid.
The downpour started on Monday night and continued till early Tuesday morning, varying from moderate to heavy, and raising the water level in Leh Nullah.
The Meteorological Department recorded 44mmrainat the airport, 88mm at Saidpur, 22mm at Bokra and 42mm at Golra in Islamabad region while 29mm rain was recorded in Shamsabad and 28mm in Chaklala in Rawalpindi.
According to a Met Office official, strong monsoon currents are penetrating upper and central parts of the country and are likely to persist till Wednesday while a westerly wave is also present over the northern parts.
Cleanliness arrangements for Eid finalised July 19, 2021
Rawalpindi : The Rawalpindi District Administration has finalized all the arrangements under a special cleanliness program prepared for Eidul Azha while 3,539 workers would be deployed to ensure proper sanitation in Rawalpindi, Murree, Taxila, Kahuta, Kalar Syedan and Gujar areas during Eidul Azha holidays.
According to the spokesperson for Commissioner Office, the administration on the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah, has finalised all the arrangements and the holidays of all the staff of Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) had been cancelled.
Total, 3539 workers will perform cleanliness duties in different shifts round the clock from Tuesday to third day of Eid ul Azha, she said and added that 3225 workers would be deployed in Rawalpindi and Murree while 314 workers would perform their duties in Taxi
