More than 20,000 citizens have received at least their first shot for the COVID-19 vaccine and that number is set to increase this week. In addition to those who will receive their second shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, the City of Lubbock Health Department announced on Sunday that there will be four clinics this week at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center for those needing to get their first shot.
The clinics this week, as in weeks before, will be open to individuals in groups 1A and 1B. That means frontline workers and those 65 years old and older. Group 1B also includes those over the age of 18 who have at least one chronic medical condition that puts them at increased risk. Expect for all clinics for the next few months to be open to those in 1A and 1B.
