State Police are searching for a man accused of striking a trooper with a vehicle and fleeing from a traffic stop. David Pratt, 18, is wanted for his role in the inicdent. The Lancaster County Drug Task Force arrested a city man who was already facing trial on drug and weapons charges during a raid Thursday morning that turned up cocaine, marijuana, a gun and more than $10,000 cash. As a result of Thursday’s raid, Steven Gonzalez Morales, 20, was charged with drug and a weapons charge. He was being held at Lancaster County Prison unable to post $10,000 bail. Steven Gonzalez-Morales, 20, of the 600 block of Poplar Street, was charged May 6 with felony drug possession with intent to deliver, possession of a stolen handgun, and possession of drug paraphernalia after police seized marijuana, cocaine, $10,000 in cash, and the gun when executing a search warrant, the district attorney said.

Lancaster man faces total aggregate prison term of 33 years after conviction in connection to 2019 shooting

A Lancaster man will serve up to 33 years in state prison after being convicted of multiple felonies related to a 2019 shooting on the 800 block of East Chestnut Street, the Lancaster County District Attorney s Office said Monday. Chapell Williams was found guilty of aggravated assault, firearms carried without a license, and person not to possess a firearm and was sentenced to a 9- to 18-year prison term by Judge Thomas Sponaugle on Monday, the DA s Office said.  Williams was previously sentenced in July 2020 to 7½ to 15 years for charges he received five days after the shooting when officers took him into custody, according to prosecutors. Officers observed Williams throw a firearm under a vehicle prior to being taken into custody five days after the shooting, according to prosecutors. 

Gunman who shot man during drug deal in Lancaster city sentenced to prison: DA

A Lancaster city man who was convicted of charges in connection with a city shooting in Feb. 2019 was sentenced to at least 16-and-a-half years in state prison Monday, according to Lancaster County District Attorney s office. That sentence, combined with other charges filed after the shooting, could mean Chappell Williams could spend up to 33 years behind bars. Williams, 42, was sentenced to nine to 18 years in prison for aggravated assault, firearms carried without a license and person not to possess a firearm for the shooting which seriously injured another man, the district attorney s office said. In Feb. 2019, Williams shot another person during a drug deal for marijuana, the district attorney s office said. Williams got into the back seat of the victim s vehicle for the transaction and then shot the man in the chest and leg when he went to get the marijuana.
