A multicolored bus with the faces of a diverse group of powerful historical figures rolled into Springfield this week with intentions of having conversations that will have lasting impacts throughout the state.
Inside the bus, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Anne Frank and Jackie Robinson are among the faces featured on the walls with quotes communicating powerful and thought-provoking messages.
On Monday, the Mobile Museum of Tolerance an initiative of Chicago’s Simon Wiesenthal Center made a temporary home for itself outside the State House Inn on East Adams Street where it will remain until Thursday. The mission of the mobile museum is to provide a space where people of all ages and backgrounds can learn about the societal impact of intolerance, in an effort to empower them to take steps to combat things like hate, bullying and racism.

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is rewarding visitors who have been vaccinated against COVID.
ALPLM officials announced this morning that throughout May and June, anyone who has received at least one shot of the vaccine can obtain a free ticket to the museum.
Melissa Coultas, acting executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum says “Vaccination is key to beating this disease, keeping everyone healthy and returning to normal in America”, and if the museum can help by offering a little extra incentive, then officials are happy to do so.

“The State of Sound,” looking at the contributions to music by Illinois artists from Sam Cooke to Miles Davis to Cheap Trick, and many more.

The exhibit features memorabilia from a number of artists, music and concert equipment made in Illinois, and a functioning radio studio where stations from around the state can broadcast.
