GROSSE TETE, La. (WAFB) - Officials are investigating a fire at a mobile home in Grosse Tete that resulted in the death of a six-year-old boy on the morning of Wednesday, April 28.
Grosse Tete Fire Chief Michael Hughes says firefighters responded to a report of a fire at a mobile home on the corner of Willow Street and Elm Street at 8:09 a.m. Wednesday.
Sheriff Brett Stassi tells WAFB’s Cali Hubbard a six-year-old boy died due to the fire.

OAKDALE, La. (KPLC) - An Oakdale man has been arrested after being accused of making a homemade explosive device and setting fire to a home with four of his relatives inside, according to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Deputies from the State Fire Marshall’s Office were called to a residence in Oakdale by the Oakdale Police Department on April 6, 2021, to assist them in the investigation of a house fire where suspicious objects were found at the scene.
