City of Portage announces sanitary sewer overflow at Romence Road Tuesday By Will Kriss

PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) â The City of Portage is confirmed that a sanitary sewer overflow took place Tuesday behind 525 Romence Road.
Officials say it occurred around 3 p.m., adding that it was caused by a blockage in the pipe. The situation was remedied by 4 p.m. the same day.
Before the blockage was cleared, approximately 100 gallons of wastewater leaked onto the parking lot and into a nearby lined detention pond.
The area was cleaned and powdered lime spread over the effected soils.
Officials say no health impacts are expected from this incident.
