Byker Wall fire RECAP: Fire crews tackled blaze on Byker street
Emergency services were called to a fire on Dalton Crescent in the Byker Wall in Newcastle at around 9am this morning

Tyne and Wear Fire Service and Northumbria Police confirmed they were at the scene of a fire on Dalton Crescent in the Byker Wall.
Five fire appliances arrived at the scene just before 9am.
The fire was in a top floor flat and all people were accounted for.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway and emergency services remained at the scene until early afternoon.
