Permission for use for all LDRS partners. ALL children across the borough could be offered first aid training which prepares them to respond to shootings, stabbings and bombings. Wigan Council has agreed to ‘explore’ the delivery of first aid training using materials covering Key Stage One and upwards to secondary school pupils. It comes after first aid lessons were introduced to the national curriculum in September 2020 following recommendations made by Lord Bob Kerslake in his inquiry into the Manchester Arena bombing one year on from the attack.

The collision happened on Bury Road in Tonge Fold, near the junction with Belvoir Street, at around 1.20pm yesterday. Emergency services arrived and a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s were freed from the car. They were then taken to hospital. Greater Manchester Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them. A force spokesman said: Police were called at 1.35pm on Thursday to a report of a collision involving car colliding with parked vehicles on Bury Road, Bolton.

Firecrews were forced to remove a roof and cut free an injured driver after a three-car smash which closed a road this morning.
The driver has been taken to hospital after the crash between a Ford Kuga, Citroen C3 and Volvo XC60 just before 8am on Friday.
