Meatpacking workers and their employers are pushing to the front of the line for coronavirus vaccinations as state governments roll out their distribution plans to combat the pandemic.
President-elect Joe Bidenâs administration is pushing to implement an emergency temporary standard that would compel most American workplaces to develop Covid safety protocols in line with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, but the meatpacking industry â where workers still donât maintain the recommended six-foot social distance â will face particular scrutiny after a series of large-scale infections.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) â Albertsons Companies says it will eliminate its fleet of home delivery drivers across several states starting at the end of February.
The grocery store company â which includes Vons, Safeway, Albertsons, and more â says the decision was made to move a portion of its online operations to third parties who specialize in delivery services, like DoorDash or Instacart for example.
