On July 10 2020, Steven Wilson was caught driving at a speed exceeding 60 miles per hour on the M5, which exceeded a variable speed limit. Wilson, 51, initially pleaded not guilty to the charge but changed his plea to guilty on April 9 2021.

Just Eat driver banned, 100mph Worcester speeder keeps licence

A MEAT lorry driver caught speeding at close to 100mph in his car will keep his licence while a Just Eat delivery driver with four children was banned from the road. Marcus Hart was clocked by police driving at 98mph on the M5 at Worcester, close to 30mph above the motorway speed limit. Meanwhile, Just Eat delivery driver Gheorghe Bahica was banned because he did not have the correct insurance. Hart, 29, a company director and professional HGV driver was behind the wheel of a Land Rover when he was captured speeding on July 12 last year, a matter proved in absence. However, he was allowed to keep his licence despite the high speed following a hearing at Worcester Magistrates Court yesterday.

HELLO: Judge Nicolas Cartwright called the appellant on his mobile phone A JUDGE called a driver accused of speeding in Worcester and told him the least he could do was turn up to his own appeal. Judge Nicolas Cartwright, sitting with a magistrate, telephoned Michael McDonagh when the appellant did not turn up at Worcester Crown Court yesterday. The 31-year-old was due in court for an appeal against conviction for failing to provide details of a driver suspected of an offence. A van registered to Mr McDonagh was clocked speeding on the A44 New Road, Worcester at 10.54am on February 13 last year. Judge Cartwright told the appellant that he could not hear evidence ‘over the telephone’ and offered Mr McDonagh four different dates when the appeal could next be heard, telling him he had to come to court in person.
