Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst has released the official 2020 Missoula County Crime Report, and outlined many of the high-profile cases that her office prosecuted. “Angela and Malcolm Cobbler were sentenced to 10 years each in the Montana State Prison for abusing their two adopted children,” began Pabst. “It s a pretty horrific set of facts. They allegedly locked them up and failed to provide them with food and a toilet. Palmer and Casey Blanchard were critically injured and continue to recover from their injuries. Shelley Hays died at the scene while Julie Blanchard later died due to the shooting injuries. Missoula District Court received a second report from a doctor who examined Bertsch’s mental health status and determined further examination in the state facility was needed. The doctor repeated statements that previous doctors had made including Bertsch was “unwilling” to participate in the process.
