Alex Ferguson has never been shy to voice his opinion and he did just that last weekend.
As plans emerged on Sunday evening that six Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, intended to break off into a European Super League, a number of managers and senior players knew little more of the proposals than supporters.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer didn’t have much time to prepare for questions about the club’s decision as the United boss was only made aware of the plans shortly before kick-off against Burnley on Sunday.
The Athletic reports that legendary former United manager Alex Ferguson was unhappy that it was left to Solskjaer to answer questions about the European Super League plans.

The football world was stunned over the weekend by news of a proposed European Super League, but the project has quickly and dramatically crumbled.
Here, the PA news agency charts the developments since Sunday afternoon.

1400 – Reports emerge that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham are supporting a breakaway European Super League.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said the club âregret the anxiety and upset caused by the proposalâ while Arsenal apologised for their âmistakeâ.
Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea were a little more prosaic in announcing their withdrawals with short statements.
But the fallout is unlikely to end there. Ed Woodward announced he will step down as Manchester United executive vice-chairman by the end of the year while Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher called for changes at the top at their respective clubs, United and Liverpool.
