Underage Drinking Party Blamed For COVID-19 Outbreak in Warren County

Dec 29, 2020 Photo: Getty Images Officials in Warren County say they ve pinpointed the source of an ongoing coronavirus outbreak there. They believe the recent rise in infections is connected to an underage drinking party held December 18th in Wilton, located in nearby Saratoga County. Warren County Health Services says someone had COVID-19 and spread it to several people, including at least 10 Warren County residents. The party was attended by high school students from Warren County meaning a lot of kids could have to quarantine before classes resume next week. The Glens Falls City School District will go fully remote for at least two weeks, beginning on Monday, January 4th.

The party, which included a sleepover, was held Dec. 18 in the town of Wilton and attended by high school students and recent graduates from high schools in Warren County. Warren County Health Services said Monday that someone who attended the party was ill with COVID-19 and infected numerous others who were there, including at least 10 Warren County residents. New York state guidelines currently allow no more than 10 people to gather in a home at any given time.
