Tigard police identify man slain in shooting The Tigard Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal shooting last week. Police say Nicholas James Potter, 36, was shot and killed by a relative in the 15000 block of Southwest 79th Avenue. Officers were called to a residence early Friday morning, May 7, and discovered Potter s body inside. No charges have been filed in the case. The Washington County District Attorney s Office will be reviewing the case before making a decision on criminal charges, police say. Investigators believe there was an ongoing issue related to Mr. Potter and threats of violence, Tigard police said Monday, May 10.

Arriving officers found a man deceased inside the home, who had been shot. Tigard Police detectives are investigating this shooting and the Washington County District Attorney’s Office will be reviewing the case. There is no threat to the public. At this time, no charges have been filed and the names of those involved are not being released. An update will likely be released on Monday once the autopsy is finished.
