While the flyover project is under the purview of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), the Waste-to-Energy plant and the MLCP are being taken up by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC). Officials said that all the projects are in the final phase of construction.

The corporation is mulling to give the old park a grand facelift and develop it as a good theme park to attract the tourists in the coastal city, which is touted to be the new Executive Capital of the State. The proposal to develop this park was put before the members of new council in the first corporation meet which was held on Friday and the council members have approved it.

The YTR Residency Flat Owners Welfare Association, comprising several individuals who had bought flats from the builder, had recently submitted a memorandum seeking legal action against it citing irregularities and violations of law. The association alleged that the builder had sold flats that were mortgaged to VUDA (now VMRDA) and complained about non-completion of the building.
