Farmer unions on Tuesday said they will make a decision regarding holding talks with the Centre on Wednesday, while agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar remained hopeful of a discussion soon.
As the farmers’ protest against the three agri laws entered its 27th day, union leader Kulwant Singh Sandhu said that 32 farmer organisations from Punjab held a meeting and discussed the next course of action.
Addressing a press conference, he said the decision regarding talking to the Centre will be taken on Wednesday when farmer leaders from across the country will discuss the agenda.
Sandhu said that they would also write to Britain MPs, urging them to press their Prime Minister Boris Johnson not to attend India s Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, on Tuesday, refused to give assent to a special assembly session called by the government to reject the farm laws passed by the Centre. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan slammed Khan s decision stating that his action was against the Constitution and Governor has no power to reject the recommendation of the government having a clear majority in the assembly .

NEW DELHI: Intensifying their agitation against the Centre’s new agri laws, farmers began their day-long ‘relay’ hunger strike on a chilly Monday morning at all sites of protest on Delhi’s borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
Protesting farmers will participate in the hunger strike in batches and the first has 11 members, according to farmer leaders.
Thousands of agriculturists, mainly from Punjab and Haryana, are protesting against the laws for the last over four weeks at various border points of Delhi and demanding that the legislations be repealed.
Swaraj India chief Yogendra Yadav had on Sunday said, “Farmers will begin a day-long relay hunger strike on Monday at all sites of protest against the new agri laws. It will be started by a team of 11 members at protests sites here, including the Singhu border.”
