The Bucks would not be here, Scott Neitzel said, former chair of the Wisconsin Center District who signed the 30-year lease alongside the Bucks after intense behind-the-scenes negotiations. Six years ago this month the state legislature approved $80 million in state funding for the arena, part of the roughly $250 million in public funding that includes funding from the state, city of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County.
