During the Monetary Policy Committee announcements on Friday, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said that retail investors could now open gilt accounts with the central bank. The Governor said that this move would broaden investor base and provide retail investors with enhanced access to participate in the government securities market.

Mumbai, Feb 2 : The Enforcement Directorate is questioning Maharashtra minister Vishwajeet Kadam s mother-in-law Gauri Bhosale at its office here in connection with the alleged illicit properties of her husband and Pune-based businessman Avinash Bhosale, sources said on Tuesday.
An ED source related to probe told IANS, The agency officials are recording the statement of Gauri.
Gauri s son-in-law, Kadam, who is a Congress legislator is also a state minister in the Maharashtra government.

BENGALURU: Future Group CEO Kishore Biyani lashed out at Amazon, likening the American e-tailer to the ruthless Alexander the Great in the latest verbal duel between the two retail giants.
Biyani, in an internal mail to the employees of his firm, equated Amazon’s petitions before the Delhi High Court and regulatory authorities as ‘vexatious litigation and harassment’, saying that it makes ‘one wonder about the similarity in the ruthless ambition to scorch the earth akin to the Greek Alexander, after all, they are inspired to name their product as Alexa’.
Amazon’s echo device Alexa has a whopping 90 per cent market share in the smart speakers segment in India, according to market research firm TechArc.
