Myanmar reports 1,580 new COVID-19 infections, 14 more deaths Xinhua 01 Jul 2021, 02:49 GMT+10 YANGON, June 30 (Xinhua) Myanmar reported 1,580 new COVID-19 infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the tally in the country to 157,277 on Wednesday, according to a release from the Health and Sports Ministry. The death toll increased to 3,334 after 14 more fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours, the release said. The number of recoveries rose to 136,443 on Wednesday. The Foreign Affairs Ministry on Wednesday announced the extension of the entry restrictions of travelers until July 31, in efforts to continue curbing the spread of COVID-19. Myanmar detected its first cases of COVID-19 on March 23 last year.
